Against the Grain was opened in May 2004 and operates from our head office site in Llandudno Junction.
The enterprise collects waste timber from the construction industry across North Wales and after some preparation distributes the collected timber into the community via its low cost reclaimed timber outlet.
Examples of items available at the retail outlet are:
- planed and rough-sawn timbers
- doors and gates
- skirting and architraves
- worktops, desks
- chipboard and hardboards
- hardwoods
- floorboards and joists
- ornamental and rustic pieces
- firewood and kindling
- recycled wooden furniture and garden furniture

Against the Grain is keen to sign up new building contractors and other wood waste producers wishing to use a low cost environmentally friendly disposal method for their waste timber.
Against the Grain will also collect wooden items and furniture from private individuals, for just £15 for 1-4 items.
